Description

Spurr Resin is a low-viscosity, epoxy-based embedding medium specifically formulated for electron microscopy. This product is essential for achieving ultra-thin, high-resolution sections of biological and materials science samples. It is a critical consumable for researchers and laboratories in life sciences, nanotechnology, and industrial quality control who require precise morphological preservation for imaging and analysis.

Application

  • Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM): Primary embedding resin for ultramicrotomy of biological tissues, cells, and polymers.
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM): Sample preparation for high-resolution imaging of surface and internal structures.
  • Materials Science: Embedding of soft materials, composites, and nanomaterials for cross-sectional analysis.
  • Botany & Plant Sciences: Infiltration and hardening of plant tissues for detailed cellular study.
  • Pathology & Biomedical Research: Preparation of clinical and research specimens for diagnostic and investigative ultrastructural analysis.
  • Industrial Failure Analysis: Embedding component samples to investigate fractures, delamination, or contamination under the electron microscope.

Quality Control

Our Spurr Resin is produced and tested to ensure consistent performance for critical microscopy applications. Each batch is controlled for key parameters such as viscosity, curing properties, and clarity to guarantee reliable sectioning and imaging results. Certificates of Analysis (COA) detailing batch-specific specifications are available upon request.

Storage

Preserve in a tightly closed container, protected from light. Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place at room temperature (15-25°C). Due to its hygroscopic (moisture-sensitive) nature, containers should be kept sealed when not in use to prevent absorption of atmospheric moisture, which can affect resin properties.
