Description

Butane, Mixt. With Propane CAS NO 61641-74-5 is a versatile and widely used liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) blend, engineered for high-performance energy and chemical feedstock applications. This mixture is valued for its excellent combustion properties, high energy density, and reliable vaporization characteristics, making it a critical component in numerous industrial processes. It is essential for industries requiring a clean-burning, portable, and efficient fuel source or a fundamental raw material for chemical synthesis.

Application

  • Industrial & Domestic Fuel: A primary component in LPG for heating, cooking, and powering industrial ovens, kilns, and forklifts.
  • Chemical Feedstock: Serves as a crucial raw material in petrochemical plants for the production of ethylene, propylene, and other olefins via steam cracking.
  • Aerosol Propellant: Used as a propellant in various aerosol products, including paints, coatings, insecticides, and personal care items.
  • Refrigerant & Blowing Agent: Employed as a refrigerant in specific applications and as a blowing agent in the production of foam plastics like expanded polystyrene (EPS).
  • Automotive Fuel (Autogas): Utilized as an alternative fuel for internal combustion engines, known as autogas, offering lower emissions.
  • Metal Processing: Provides a high-temperature flame for cutting, brazing, and heat treatment in metalworking operations.
  • Synthetic Rubber Production: Acts as a feedstock in the manufacture of synthetic rubbers such as butyl rubber.

Quality Control

Our Butane-Propane mixture is produced and handled under stringent quality management systems to ensure batch-to-batch consistency and reliability. Quality is verified against industry standards such as HD-5 for propane and commercial grade specifications for butane. Key parameters including composition, vapor pressure, volatile residue, and sulfur content are rigorously tested. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing all test results is provided with every shipment to guarantee compliance with your specific requirements.

Storage

Preserve in a tightly closed container, protected from light. Store in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and ignition points. Containers must be positioned upright and protected from physical damage. Storage temperature should not exceed 50°C (122°F). Due to its highly volatile and gaseous nature under ambient conditions, storage vessels must be designed for liquefied gas service and kept below their rated pressure.
