Description

Amberlite IRA-910 is a strongly basic, macroreticular (macroporous) anion exchange resin supplied in the chloride form. This robust resin is engineered for demanding industrial separation and purification processes where high chemical stability and consistent performance are critical. It is essential for applications in water treatment, chemical processing, and the pharmaceutical industry, where the selective removal of anions from process streams is required.

Application

  • Industrial Water Demineralization: Used in mixed-bed or separate-bed systems to remove anions such as chloride, sulfate, and nitrate, producing high-purity deionized water for power generation, electronics manufacturing, and laboratory use.
  • Chemical Processing & Catalysis: Serves as a catalyst or catalyst support in various organic synthesis reactions and is used for the purification of process streams by removing acidic impurities.
  • Sugar & Sweetener Decolorization: Employed in the refining of sugar syrups and high-fructose corn syrup to adsorb color bodies and organic acids, improving product clarity and quality.
  • Pharmaceutical Purification: Facilitates the isolation and purification of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates through anion exchange chromatography.
  • Metal Recovery & Hydrometallurgy: Effective for the selective recovery of precious metals like gold and platinum from leach solutions, as well as for the removal of toxic anions from mining wastewater.
  • Condensate Polishing: Critical in power plants for polishing boiler feedwater and condensate, protecting turbines and boilers from corrosive anion contamination.

Quality Control

Every batch of Amberlite IRA-910 is manufactured and tested under a strict quality management system. Key parameters such as total exchange capacity, moisture holding capacity, particle size distribution, and chemical stability are verified to ensure consistent performance. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) documenting these specifications is provided with each shipment and is available upon request.

Storage

Preserve in a tightly closed container, protected from light. Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area at ambient temperature (15-25°C). Keep away from strong oxidizing agents. The resin should be kept moist and not allowed to dry out, as this can cause physical damage to the beads.
