Rodenticides

Rodenticides are chemical agents used to control rodent populations in agricultural, industrial, and residential settings. They include anticoagulants, neurotoxins, acute toxicants, and metabolic disruptors. Anticoagulant rodenticides inhibit vitamin K recycling, leading to fatal internal bleeding, while neurotoxic compounds act on central nervous system pathways to induce paralysis or death. Rodenticides are essential in preventing crop loss, infrastructure damage, and disease transmission by rodents. Formulations include baits, pellets, tracking powders, and fumigation agents. Because of risks to non-target species, including pets and wildlife, rodenticide use requires strict regulation, bait station management, and responsible application practices.
