Description
Titanium CAS NO 16962-40-6 refers to the elemental metal titanium, a material prized for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and superior corrosion resistance. This combination of properties makes it a critical engineering material for demanding applications where performance and longevity are paramount. It is essential for manufacturers in the aerospace, chemical processing, medical implant, and high-performance automotive industries seeking lightweight, durable components.
Application
- Aerospace Components: Used in airframes, jet engine parts, and spacecraft structures due to its high strength and low density.
- Chemical Processing Equipment: Fabrication of reactors, heat exchangers, and piping systems that handle corrosive media.
- Medical Implants and Devices: Production of orthopedic implants (e.g., hip joints, bone screws) and surgical instruments, leveraging its biocompatibility.
- Marine and Offshore Engineering: Components for ships and offshore platforms exposed to seawater corrosion.
- Automotive and Motorsport: High-performance parts such as connecting rods, valves, and exhaust systems to reduce weight and improve efficiency.
- Consumer Electronics: Used in premium laptop casings, smartphones, and watches for a durable, lightweight finish.
- Architectural Cladding: Provides a durable, aesthetically pleasing, and maintenance-free exterior for modern buildings.
- Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing): Titanium powder is a key material for producing complex, high-strength metal parts via selective laser melting (SLM) or electron beam melting (EBM).

Quality Control
Our titanium products are manufactured and tested to meet stringent international material standards, including ASTM B265 (Titanium Plate, Sheet, and Strip), ASTM B348 (Titanium Bar and Billet), and AMS 4900 series for aerospace applications. Quality is assured through comprehensive analysis of chemical composition, mechanical properties, and microstructure. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) and full material traceability are provided with every shipment.
Storage
Preserve in a tightly closed container, protected from light. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible materials. Due to its nature as an easily oxidized (store under inert atmosphere) material, titanium powder or fine turnings should be stored under an inert atmosphere such as argon to prevent pyrophoric risks and oxidation. Keep away from strong acids and strong oxidizing agents.
