Description

Amberlite(R) Ira-900 is a strongly basic anion exchange resin supplied in the chloride form. This high-capacity, macroreticular resin is engineered for exceptional chemical stability and performance in demanding industrial separation and purification processes. It is a critical component for industries requiring the efficient removal or recovery of anions from aqueous and mixed streams. Key applications include water treatment, chemical processing, and hydrometallurgy.

Application

  • Industrial Water Demineralization: Used in mixed-bed or separate-bed deionization systems to remove anions such as chloride, sulfate, and nitrate, producing high-purity water for power generation, electronics, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Chemical Process Catalysis & Purification: Serves as a catalyst or purification agent in organic synthesis and the recovery of valuable chemicals from process streams.
  • Hydrometallurgy & Metal Recovery: Effective for the selective separation and concentration of anionic metal complexes, such as gold cyanide or platinum group metals, from leach solutions.
  • Sugar & Sweetener Decolorization/Deashing: Employed in the refining of sugar, corn syrup, and other sweeteners to remove color bodies and ionic impurities.
  • Wastewater Treatment: Applied for the removal of hazardous anions, including chromate, arsenate, and perchlorate, to meet environmental discharge standards.
  • Pharmaceutical Intermediates Purification: Used in the purification steps of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to isolate or remove ionic by-products.

Quality Control

Our Amberlite(R) Ira-900 is manufactured under a rigorous quality management system. Each batch is tested against strict internal specifications for critical parameters including total exchange capacity, moisture retention, bead size distribution, and chemical stability. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing these results is provided with every shipment to ensure traceability and compliance with your process requirements.

Storage

Preserve in a tightly closed container, protected from light. This product is hygroscopic (moisture-sensitive). Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area at room temperature (15-25°C). Keep the original container sealed to prevent moisture uptake and contamination. Do not allow the resin to freeze.
