Description

Fuel Oil No. 5 is a medium-grade residual fuel oil, also known as Navy Special Fuel Oil, primarily used in industrial and marine applications. This product is valued for its high energy density and cost-effectiveness as a fuel source for medium- to low-speed diesel engines and boilers. It is a critical energy feedstock for the maritime shipping, power generation, and heavy industrial sectors requiring a reliable and economical fuel supply.

Application

  • Marine Fuel: Primary fuel for medium- and low-speed diesel engines in commercial shipping vessels and naval fleets.
  • Industrial Boilers: Fuel for stationary boilers in manufacturing plants, refineries, and district heating systems.
  • Power Generation: Fuel source for backup generators and some base-load power plants.
  • Cement & Lime Kilns: Used as a fuel in rotary kilns for high-temperature process heating.
  • Blending Component: Used to adjust the viscosity and specifications of other fuel oil grades.

Quality Control

Our Fuel Oil No. 5 is produced and tested to meet stringent industry specifications such as ISO 8217 for marine fuels and ASTM D396 for fuel oils. Each batch undergoes rigorous analysis for key parameters including viscosity, sulfur content, flash point, and water & sediment. Certificates of Analysis (COA) detailing all test results are provided to ensure compliance and performance reliability for your specific application.

Storage

Preserve in a tightly closed container, protected from light. Store in dedicated, well-ventilated fuel storage tanks at ambient temperatures. To prevent degradation and water contamination, tanks should be equipped with proper venting and water draw-off systems. Maintain adequate heating to ensure proper viscosity for pumping and handling, typically between 40-50°C (104-122°F). Keep away from strong oxidizers and ignition sources.
