Description

Microcrystalline Wax is a refined, high-molecular-weight hydrocarbon derived from petroleum, characterized by its fine crystal structure, high viscosity, and excellent flexibility compared to paraffin wax. This unique combination of properties makes it an indispensable material for enhancing the performance, durability, and texture of a wide range of industrial and consumer products. It is a critical component for formulators and manufacturers in sectors such as adhesives, cosmetics, packaging, and rubber, where consistency, binding strength, and moisture resistance are paramount.

Application

  • Adhesives & Hot Melts: Imparts flexibility, tack, and water resistance to formulations for packaging, woodworking, and construction.
  • Cosmetics & Personal Care: Used as a thickening agent, stabilizer, and emollient in lipsticks, creams, ointments, and pomades to provide structure and a smooth texture.
  • Rubber & Tire Manufacturing: Acts as a processing aid and anti-ozonant, protecting rubber products from cracking and weathering.
  • Packaging & Coatings: Provides moisture barrier properties and gloss in coatings for paper, cardboard, and corrugated board.
  • Candles: Used to modify the crystalline structure of paraffin wax, improving fragrance retention, burn time, and surface finish.
  • Investment Casting: Serves as a key component in pattern wax blends for precision metal casting due to its low shrinkage and dimensional stability.
  • Polishes & Waxes: Enhances durability, gloss, and protective qualities in automotive, floor, and furniture polishes.
  • Plastics & Polymer Modification: Functions as a lubricant and processing aid to improve flow and mold release in various polymer compounds.

Quality Control

Our Microcrystalline Wax is produced under a stringent quality management system to ensure batch-to-batch consistency and reliability. We offer various grades, including industrial, technical, and refined grades suitable for diverse applications. All products are accompanied by a comprehensive Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing key parameters such as melting point, penetration, oil content, and color. We adhere to relevant industry standards and can provide materials compliant with FDA regulations 21 CFR 172.886 and 178.3710 for specific uses.

Storage

Preserve in a tightly closed container, protected from light. Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from heat sources and open flame. Recommended storage temperature is between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). Keep away from strong oxidizing agents.
