Description

Poly(Ethylene-Co-Methyl Acrylate-Co-Glycidyl Methacrylate) is a specialized reactive terpolymer that combines the flexibility and processability of polyethylene with the adhesion-promoting properties of methyl acrylate and the crosslinking functionality of glycidyl methacrylate. This unique combination makes it an essential compatibilizer and impact modifier for enhancing the toughness and adhesion between dissimilar polymers. It is primarily used by manufacturers in the plastics compounding, automotive, and wire & cable industries to create high-performance polymer blends and composites.

Application

  • Polymer Compatibilizer: Used to improve the compatibility and interfacial adhesion in blends of polar and non-polar polymers, such as polyamide/polyolefin or polyester/polyethylene blends.
  • Impact Modifier: Enhances the toughness and impact resistance of engineering plastics and thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs).
  • Adhesive & Tie-Layer Resin: Serves as a key component in multi-layer co-extruded films and sheets, bonding layers that would otherwise delaminate.
  • Wire & Cable Jacketing: Improves adhesion between insulation layers and provides stress-crack resistance in cable sheathing applications.
  • Automotive Components: Used in under-the-hood parts and interior trim where chemical resistance and durability are critical.
  • Reactive Processing Aid: The epoxy groups from glycidyl methacrylate can react with carboxyl or amine end-groups during melt processing to form in-situ graft copolymers.

Quality Control

Our Poly(Ethylene-Co-Methyl Acrylate-Co-Glycidyl Methacrylate) is manufactured under strict quality control protocols to ensure batch-to-batch consistency in composition, melt flow index, and epoxy content. Production adheres to ISO 9001 quality management systems. A comprehensive Certificate of Analysis (COA) is provided with each shipment, detailing key parameters such as comonomer content, melt index, and epoxy value to meet your specific formulation requirements.

Storage

Preserve in a tightly closed container, protected from light. Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area at room temperature (15-25°C). Keep away from heat sources and open flames. Under these conditions, the product is typically stable for at least 24 months from the date of manufacture.
