Description

Silica Glass is a high-purity, amorphous form of silicon dioxide (SiO₂) distinguished by its exceptional optical clarity, thermal stability, and chemical inertness. Its primary value lies in providing a robust, transparent material with low thermal expansion and high resistance to thermal shock and most acids. This product is essential for industries requiring precision optics, high-temperature viewing, or chemically resistant transparent components. Key applications span advanced optics, semiconductor manufacturing, laboratory equipment, and specialized lighting.

Application

  • Optical Components: Lenses, windows, prisms, and mirrors for UV to IR applications, including lasers and spectroscopy systems.
  • Semiconductor Fabrication: Crucibles, furnace tubes, diffusion tubes, and wafer carriers in high-temperature processing.
  • Laboratory & Analytical Equipment: Cuvettes, sight glasses, reactor liners, and tubing for corrosive environments.
  • Lighting: Envelopes for high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps, UV lamps, and halogen lamps.
  • High-Temperature Viewing Ports: Windows for industrial furnaces, kilns, and combustion chambers.
  • Precision Instrumentation: Substrates, spacers, and insulating components in sensitive measuring devices.

Quality Control

Our Silica Glass is manufactured under controlled conditions to ensure consistent optical and physical properties. Quality is verified through a battery of tests including spectrophotometry for transmission, interferometry for homogeneity, and chemical analysis for purity. Certificates of Analysis (COA) detailing lot-specific characteristics such as OH content, bubble/inclusion levels, and striae are available upon request to support your quality assurance protocols.

Storage

Preserve in a tightly closed container, protected from light. Store in a dry, clean environment at room temperature (15-25°C). Although chemically stable, the material should be handled with care to prevent surface scratching or contamination. Keep away from strong alkalis and hydrofluoric acid, which can attack the silica network.
