Azoic Dyes (ingrain dyes)
Azoic Dyes (ingrain dyes)
Azoic dyes, also known as ingrain dyes, are formed directly on the fiber through a coupling reaction between a diazo component and a coupling component, producing highly insoluble azo pigments within the fabric structure. This in situ formation provides outstanding wash fastness, light fastness, and chemical resistance. Azoic dyes are primarily used on cellulose fibers such as cotton, delivering bright, intense shades ranging from reds and oranges to deep browns. They are especially valued for shades that are difficult to achieve with other dye classes. Despite their excellent performance, azoic dyeing requires precise control of pH, temperature, and reaction conditions, making it more specialized than conventional dyeing processes.
